Someone asked what lens I used for the leopard shot - a new Sigma 150-500VR

On the original raw file (nef) the exif info reads

Lens Type 234881024

Lens 798

I used NikonViev NX2 to export the file to jpeg after playing around with WB, etc.

The exif info then read:-

Lens Type 14

Lens 768

It appears as if no EXIF info are uploaded to the site (or I don't know where to find it) - but what's up with the discrepancy?.

Hi Marthinus,

Since asking the question I did some searching and found out some more.

I used Irfanview to look at the exif info and it appears as if the program reads the lens codes incorrectly from the data on the original file.

NX View will show the actual lens type eg 70-200VR (probably from a look-up table).

I just thought it would be nice if you could get the info included in the exif when uploading the image together with camera, F-stop, shutter speed, etc.

Regards

AV

Hi,

It seems an additional module is required for the EXIF data.

I have not been able to activate this function as part of the standard setup yet.

Will let you know as soon as it is possible.

Kind regards...
